Brad is a talented young man who sat for this portrait in his home. Energy just poured out when he held his horn; we shot this series with a spotlight and pitch black background. Students can feel more relaxed at home, and parents get the chance to show me what they want. 

These kids wanted something special; a 30 inch print that their friends could sign on their wedding day. We shot this on black & white roll film, and the huge print greeted folks in the reception room of the hotel where they married. Thanks to a custom printer in Los Angeles the photograph took your breath away.

Zen Masters write books and make CD’s, for which they sometimes need a photo. We shot this at the Master’s Temple. I brought three softboxes, including a gold faced strip box to simulate a hint of sunlight on his left shoulder.

Shooting in a small city apartment with plenty of window light, we needed just some fill light from my battery strobe to make this family shine. The new mother’s favorite quilt added a defining touch.
