Weddings

I tend to go the extra mile for weddings; I guess I’m a softie. My Brides don’t want to pay the normal fees to look as nice in a photo as they are in person on that day. This bride got married in a Buddhist Temple and her pale complexion contrasted nicely with the pure red gown. I shot some practice frames of the altar and decided to blow-out the background to create a glow behind them. My Zeiss lens delivered the detail, and all I needed to do was pop a monoblock into them. My light meter is the most valuable thing I own.

This couple wanted to get their wedding-day portrait shot in pitch black darkness on a hill overlooking a small town. Who am I to argue?

Sometimes you get lucky, and the Bride let’s it all hang out. This one’s about to toss the flowers, wearing her new husband’s jacket for warmth at the reception. The Brides that pick me are interested in this: the truth of that day. They don’t need fancy churches and costly arrangements; they need the reality of their lives brought forth with dignity.
